Use Messages in a request to communicate with the firms you have invited, and with your own colleagues. This article is for requesters. If you are a firm responding to a request, see How do I use the Messages feature to ask clarifying questions regarding a specific request?.
Why use Messages instead of email or another tool
Navigating the Messages feature
On the home dashboard, use the red messages icon and unread count to see which requests have unread messages.
Within a request, there is also the Messages button at the top.
Click Messages to open the panel on the right-hand side.
The panel includes a search bar and a list of all invited firms.
Channels below the search bar are grouped under Recent and No Activity, sorted by latest message date.
Internal and external channel types
The Internal channel is private, for you and your colleagues who have access to the request only. The firms you have invited will not see any messages in this channel.
An External channel exists for each invited firm. Use it for questions about the request or proposal. Each external channel is private between your organization and that firm, and no other firms have access to it.
If a conversation with one firm applies to all firms, you can issue a clarification to share the information with everyone.
Download or export messages
Use the icon at the top of the Messages panel to download all messages in the request.
Click the Download/Export icon to open a page where you can customize the export before you select Print/PDF. You can choose to include system messages and the members in each channel using the toggles at the top right of the screen.
