Persi is PERSUIT’s outside counsel management agent. It helps you use PERSUIT more easily by guiding you through key workflows, answering questions, drafting and refining requests, analyzing data, and helping you make more informed decisions about outside counsel.
Persi brings together data, workflows, and specialist capabilities from across the PERSUIT platform so you can get work done through a single chat experience.
Following a beta period, Persi is now generally available.
What’s new
During the beta period, we made several powerful updates to Persi:
Edit requests directly in chat
Persi can now help you refine a request after the initial draft is created. You can ask Persi to update the scope, timeline, contacts, settings, or other request details directly in the chat experience.
Use your company templates
When creating a request with Persi, you can choose to use one of your organization’s templates so the draft is better aligned with your company’s preferred structure and process.
Get firm and lawyer recommendations
Persi can recommend firms and lawyers in the context of your organization’s panel, preferred firms, approved firm lists, Firm Profiles, Lawyer Profiles, and recommendation data.
Benchmark pricing and support negotiations
Persi can help identify relevant price benchmarks, compare proposals or uploaded budgets against those benchmarks, and provide negotiation recommendations.
Ask for executive insights and benchmarking audits
Persi can summarize PERSUIT activity, savings, spend, pricing trends, firm performance, auction outcomes, and other key insights.
Analyze uploaded files
Persi can help analyze files including DOCX, PPT, XLSX, PDF, and image files.
Use business rules for better guidance
Admins can save company-specific rules and context in Persi’s settings so Persi can guide users in a way that reflects your organization’s preferred processes.
How Persi works
Persi uses one chat interface to coordinate multiple specialist agents across the PERSUIT platform.
When you ask Persi a question or give it a task, Persi interprets the request, identifies the right specialist capability to use, and helps you complete the workflow or find the relevant information.
What Persi can help with
Drafting and refining RFPs
Persi can help draft a new request using the same Smart Scoping capability that powers PERSUIT’s AI Smart Scoping feature.
Because Persi works through chat, you can provide additional context conversationally and then ask Persi to refine the draft. For example, you can ask Persi to:
- Rewrite the matter description
- Add more detail to the scope
- Shorten or simplify the request
- Adjust the timeline
- Add contacts
- Update request settings
- Apply a company template
Matter intake guidance
Persi can recognize when a user is describing a new matter and can recommend next steps based on your organization’s business rules.
For example, Persi can help determine whether a matter should be sourced through PERSUIT, whether certain firms should be considered, or whether a particular process should be followed.
Note: Persi does not yet populate the existing matter intake workflow or configurable intake fields. This capability is in development.
Price benchmarking
Persi can help surface relevant price benchmarks based on the matter described in chat.
Persi can also compare benchmarks against existing PERSUIT proposals or external budgets uploaded into chat. This can help you understand whether pricing is above, below, or aligned with the market and identify potential negotiation opportunities.
Firm and lawyer recommendations
Persi can recommend firms and lawyers for a matter using PERSUIT Firm Profiles, Lawyer Profiles, recommendation data, and your organization’s approved or preferred firm lists.
This helps users identify outside counsel options that are not just generally relevant, but relevant in the context of your organization’s relationships and panel strategy.
Insights and reporting
Persi can help answer questions about your PERSUIT data by finding relevant dashboards, reports, or data points and summarizing what they mean.
You can ask Persi for summaries of spend, savings, RFP activity, auction outcomes, firm performance, proposal participation, and other key metrics.
Proposal analysis
Persi can help compare proposals in an existing RFP so you can identify important differences between firms.
For example, Persi can help highlight differences in strategy, pricing, assumptions, exclusions, staffing, risk, or areas that may need clarification before a decision is made.
Broader analysis and document support
Persi can also help with broader analytical tasks, especially when you provide additional context or upload supporting files.
For example, Persi can help:
- Analyze rate cards
- Review budgets
- Summarize documents
- Draft clarification questions
- Compare uploaded materials
- Create a negotiation strategy
- Summarize panel or firm performance data
Product support
Persi can answer questions about how to use PERSUIT by referencing available support content.
You can ask Persi how to complete a task, what a feature does, or where to find functionality in the platform.
Example prompts
Here are some examples of what you can ask Persi:

“Help me draft an RFP for a commercial litigation matter in New York. Use our litigation template and include questions about strategy, staffing, budget assumptions, and likely timeline.”

“Make the scope more specific, add a deadline for proposals next Friday, and include a request for alternative fee options.”
Price benchmarking
“Benchmark this matter against similar matters and tell me whether the proposed fees look above or below market.”
Negotiation support
“Compare these proposals against our benchmarks and give me negotiation recommendations for each firm.”
Firm recommendations
“Recommend firms and lawyers for this employment matter based on our preferred firm list and relevant experience.”
Proposal analysis
“Compare the proposals in this RFP and highlight the biggest differences in pricing, assumptions, strategy, and risk.”
Executive summary
“Give me an executive summary of our RFP activity, savings, and firm performance over the last 12 months.”
Auction analysis
“For completed auctions in the last year, show me the average price drop from initial bid to final bid, which firms reduced pricing the most, and where auction-driven savings were highest.”
Support
“How do I create a new request using a company template?”
Tips for getting better results
Persi works best when you provide enough context for the task. For better results, include details such as:
- Matter type
- Jurisdiction or location
- Relevant firms or firm lists
- Business rules or process requirements
- Timeline
- Budget expectations
- Known risks or complexity
- Documents, budgets, proposals, or rate cards you want Persi to analyze
You can also continue the conversation after Persi responds. Ask follow-up questions, request edits, or tell Persi to take a different approach.
Important notes
Persi uses the data and functionality available to you in PERSUIT. Access to data, recommendations, dashboards, and workflows may depend on your organization’s configuration and your user permissions.
Persi is designed to support your work, but users should review outputs before relying on them or sending anything to firms.
Persi’s capabilities will continue to expand over time, including deeper support for intake workflows and additional cross-platform actions.
Powerful Prompts
1. "Run a full benchmarking audit across our agreed fees over the last year.
For every matter type and location, compare what we paid against market rates.
Identify our top 5 overspend areas, our top 5 most efficient areas, flag any firms consistently pricing above the 75th percentile, and calculate the total recoverable savings if we'd held all spend to the 50th percentile benchmark.
2. "For all our completed auctions in the last year, show me the average price drop from initial bid to final bid, which firms dropped the most, and what our total auction-driven savings were. Run the deeper investigation into firm-by-firm bidding behavior during auctions
3. "Give me a full executive summary of our legal spend, savings, and RFP activity over the last 12 months - include a deeper analysis on trends, top-performing firms, and where we're leaving money on the table.
4. "Rank all our law firms by win rate, average savings generated, and proposal participation rate. Highlight any firms that are underperforming relative to how often we invite them.
5. "How much of our total savings came from reverse auctions vs. competitive bidding? Show me which practice areas generated the most savings and which had the biggest price drops during auctions.
