On any published request, if a firm has the following statuses of Awaiting Revision and/or Under Revision, then you will not be able to take certain actions on their proposal until the firm revises their proposal and/or responds to your negotiation.
Awaiting Revision Status
The Awaiting Revision status on a firm's proposal means you sent them a negotiation that has yet to be answered.
If the firm has an Awaiting Revision status, you will not be able to renegotiate or select their proposal until they have responded to the negotiation request.
Awaiting Revision status can occur in these stages:
Awaiting Revision in Open To Proposals
You’ll see that the Select and Negotiate buttons are grayed out and unclickable.
The firm will need to confirm the negotiation you have sent them by submitting their counter proposal. This article explains how to respond to a negotiation.
After their revisions have been made, the Awaiting Revision status will disappear.
From here, you can select a firm or negotiate further.
Awaiting Revision in Evaluating Stage
Proposal does not have the “Request Reopened” status
If your request's deadline has passed and is in the Evaluating stage, the participating firms will not be able to edit their proposals. If the firm has an Awaiting Revision on their proposal and does not have the Request Reopened status, this means their proposal has a negotiation awaiting them that they are unable to answer.
In order for the firm to submit their counter proposal, you must first reopen the request for that firm. They’ll receive a new status on their proposal that reads Request Reopened for Firm and an automated email notification.
After their revisions have been made, the Awaiting Revision status will disappear.
Close the request for the firm to finalize the negotiation. From here, you can select a firm or negotiate further.
Proposal has the “Request Reopened” status
If your request is in the Evaluating stage and the firm has both statuses of Awaiting Revision and Request Reopened, then this means the firm has a negotiation awaiting them and they are able to revise their proposal and submit a response.
After their revisions have been made, the Awaiting Revision status will disappear.
Close the request for the firm to finalize the negotiation. From here, you can select a firm or negotiate further.
Under Revision
If a firm has the Under Revision status on their proposal, it means their existing proposal is currently in a "draft" stage that is undergoing edits and updates.
You will be able to negotiate with proposals Under Revision but you will not be able to select proposal with that status. In this example image, you'll see that the select button is grayed out for the firm that's Under Revision.
Under Revision can occur in these stages:
Under Revision in Open To Proposals
A firm that has a proposal Under Revision while your request is in the Open to Proposals stage can easily finish revising their proposal. This article has more information on how firms can revise their proposal.
Under Revision in Evaluating Stage
Proposal does not have the “Request Reopened” status
If a firm's proposal is Under Revision when the deadline on your request passes and moves to the Evaluating stage, the firm will lose access to editing their proposal. This means they will not be able to finish their revisions and their proposal will be "stuck" until you reopen the request for them.
In order for the firm to finish revising their proposal, you must first reopen the request for that firm. They’ll receive a new status on their proposal that reads Request Reopened for Firm and an automated email notification.
After their revisions have been made, the Under Revision status will disappear.
Close the request for the firm. From here, you can select the firm or negotiate.
Proposal has the “Request Reopened” status
If your request is in the Evaluating stage and the firm has both statuses of Under Revision and Request Reopened, then this means the firm is able access their proposal to finish updating and revising.
After their revisions have been made, the Under Revision will disappear, and you can close the request for the firm to move forward with selecting or negotiating further.
