PERSUIT allows law firm users to build out their profile on the platform, showcasing their expertise, experience, and other relevant credentials. A complete profile works in their favor during the invitation stage when in-house teams are considering firms for a matter. PERSUIT's "Best Match" feature surfaces the most relevant firm users based on their profile information, providing context on their skillset to help in-house clients make decisions on who to invite.
In this article, you’ll learn how to:
- Navigate to Your Profile Page
- In Your Profile Page:
- See What In-House Customers Can See Depending on Your Profile Level
Navigating to Your Profile Page
There are two ways you can get to your profile page. The first is through the main menu found on the left side of any page where you’ll see “My Profile”.
The second is through the profile icon at the top right of the page. When expanded, you’ll see ‘My Profile’.
After you click either of those options, you’ll be directed to your Profile page.
Managing Your Profile
At the top of the page, you’ll see an example of your Profile as you’ve configured it. If you've upgraded to Firm Plus, in-house clients will see this profile during the request invitation stage. For non-upgraded firms, this information populates relevant matters in the "Best Match" section, but the profile card display is limited. You can view what each profile looks like to in-house clients at the bottom of this article.
If you have a free firm profile, but would like to upgrade, you can click the Upgrade Now button to take you to the Upgrade page.
You can manage and edit your own profile to provide context on your capabilities. You’ll be able to:
- Define Your Expertise
- Showcase Past Matters
- Highlight Differentiators
Defining Your Expertise
In the Expertise tab, you can define key practice areas, or expertise, that you want to be known for. This ensures in-house clients understand your core capabilities when considering you for relevant work. You can set up to three (3) practice areas as your core expertise.
You’ll see a search bar where you can search for your relevant practice areas.
Underneath the search bar will be a list of all the practice areas available to you organized and categorized.
Any updates made in this section will be automatically saved and you can view the changes in your example Profile card.
Showcasing Past Matters
In the Matters tab, you can showcase previous work that demonstrates your experience and delivery.
At the top of this section is an Add Custom Matter text box. This is where you can add previous matters that demonstrate your skills.
You’ll be required to fill in a Title, the Description of the matter, the End Date of the matter, the Practice Area this relates to and the Location this matter occurred in.
Once completed, press the + Add Matter button to save and finalize this matter.
You can add as many matters as you’d like. Each matter will live in the Your Matters section. From here, you’ll be able to select and showcase up to three (3) matters at any time on your profile.
Any updates made in this section will be automatically saved.
Highlighting Your Differentiators
In the Differentiators tab, you’ll be able to list what sets you apart from the industry - whether it be unique experience, certifications, value adds, and more.
At the top of this section you’ll see an Add Differentiator box. This is where you can add your differentiators beyond credentials and direct experience.
In the Type dropdown, select +Other.
The Other Type* text box will appear. Type in a differentiator you consider valuable for in-house clients. In this example, this lawyer is using a Certification differentiator.
You can use the Description box to explain this differentiator further.
Press +Add Differentiator when you’re ready.
You’ll see any saved differentiators listed in the Your Differentiators section at the bottom . You can have up to three differentiators at any time.
Seeing What In-House Customers Can See Depending on Your Profile Level
During the Invitation stage, in-house clients can use the Best Match feature to find the perfect lawyer for their needs. Best Match looks at what matters to them, location, matter type, and your profile details (location, specialization, past matters, and what makes you unique), to suggest you from our lawyer network.
Lawyers with free firm profiles will still appear in an in-house client’s Best Match feature, however their profile will show limited content.
Lawyers with Firm Plus profiles will appear in the Best Match for in-house customers and their full profile will be visible.
