Projects View in Apperio (e-Billing)

In Apperio (e-Billing) you have the ability to associate matters to a project and view the relative spend using the Projects View. Matters from a particular law firm or across multiple law firms in the platform can be grouped together and assigned to a project. For each project you create you’ll be able to track to the total spend. You can view the top level spend for your project including billed and unbilled WIP, or drill down into individual matters and view the detailed spend breakdown.

How to Create a Project

To create a project select the Matters icon from the side menu.

On the Matters and Projects page select the Projects tab. 

Select New Project from the projects list.

Enter the project name and select Create Project.

Welcome to your project! You can now assign your first matter to your project using the ‘Add Matters’ button. Search for your matter using the matters search tool and select the matter to automatically allocate it to your project.

Add more matters to your project directly from the projects page by using the Add Matters button. You can add a maximum of 20 matters to a project.

Only one matter can be linked to a project at any one time. You cannot link a single matter across multiple projects.

How to View a Project

All projects created in the platform can be viewed on the projects list.

By default projects are ordered by the last worked date. Using the filters easily sort the list to view your projects from lowest to greatest spend or by the number of matters assigned to a project. Easily find a project by searching the project name using the search toolbar.

Click on a project name to view the detailed projects page. Here you can view the total spend breakdown across billed and unbilled WIP alongside a list of all matters associated with the project.

Select the date picker on the top right to view the overall project spend across a chosen date range.

View a list of all matters associated with the project using the Matters in project list. If you have a budget set by your law firm you can view the matter budget alongside the total spend. For a deeper insight into your spend select the matter name to view the detailed matter page, or the law firm name to view the law firm page.

Rename the Projects Tab

You can have the projects tab renamed to best suit the project you're working on. For example, if you group matters towards a deal we can name the project tab 'Deals'. Similarly we can name the tab transactions, funds or clients depending on the nature of work. Please reach out to your customer success manager or email support@apperio.com if you'd like the tab renamed.

You can also edit the name of a project. To do this select the gear icon on the project page.

Select Save Changes.

Remove Matters from a Project

To remove a matter from a project navigate to the project page. Select the unlink button next to the project name in the ‘Matters in project’ list.

Select Yes, Remove to remove the matter.

Delete a Project

To delete a project entirely select the gear icon from the projects page. If a project is deleted, all associated matters are unliked from the project.

Select DELETE in the edit project view.

You will receive a final warning that you’re about to delete a project. Select DELETE to permanently delete the project.
