External collaborators, like consultants, assist organizations in drafting requests and proposals in the PERSUIT platform. This ensures a seamless collaboration while keeping client data secure and protected.
PERSUIT clients have full control over external collaborator access, via inviting users and managing their access permissions.
- Receiving the Invitation to be an External Collaborator
- Activating or Logging in to your Account
- Enabling Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
- Switching between Organizations
Receiving the Invitation to be an External Collaborator
Once invited, the email notification looks like this:
If you don’t yet have an account to PERSUIT, one will be automatically created for you at the time of invitation.
Activating or Logging in to your Account
First time PERSUIT users will receive a separate email regarding the new account and activation. These articles explain what that process looks like for in-house teams and firms.
If you are added as an external collaborator and already have a PERSUIT account, then you can login to the platform like normal.
Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
When you are given external collaborator access, you will be able to switch from your main PERSUIT account, tied to your original firm/organization, and the External Collaborator account, tied to the host’s organization.
You will need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication to be able to switch between organization accounts. You can view this article to learn how to set it up. If you do not set it up, they will not be able to access the account switching feature.
Switching Between Organizations
At the top right of any PERSUIT page the user icon contains your name, email, roles and the organizations you can access.
The organization listed at the top and grayed out is the account you are currently connected to.
In this example, clicking on “ACME Inc”. would switch you away from your “Quinn & Wren Advisors” account.
If this is the first time you are logging in as that organization, you will initially see some pop-ups or banners.
Your user icon at the top will now reflect the switch of organizations. In this example it now says Acme Inc. and that you are part of the Legal Group and Legal Team.
If this is your first time accessing this external organization's account, you’ll need to fill out the Profile page that’s tied to your external account before moving forward to the home page and any requests/proposals you have access to.
External Collaborators can work for firms and in-house organizations. Please view these Quick Guide Articles for more information about the firm organization’s experience and the in-house organization’s experience.
