PERSUIT templates allow you to draft requests quickly and efficiently so you can focus on the matter-specific areas of a request that require more thought and attention. The templates do the heavy lifting so you can focus on more strategic, legal work.
Our platform has an extensive library of 90+ pre-made templates spanning most practice areas created by PERSUIT's Legal Advisory team.
Users with Template Manager access can also create and edit your own custom templates for your team that follow your company guidelines.

Navigating to Manage Templates
Start in the expanding menu on the left side of any PERSUIT page and select Manage Templates within the My Firms section.
NOTE: If you can't find 'Manage Templates' you do not have Template Manager access. Please see the end of this article for instructions on how to obtain this access.
Manage Templates Page
You’ll see three tabs at the top of the Manage Templates page showing the different types of templates available: Your Company, PERSUIT, and Firm Published Templates. In the example below, Acme Inc. is a placeholder for your company.
Company Templates
The Acme Inc. tab (your company tab) will hold all the templates, both unpublished and published, that your team has created.
PERSUIT Templates
The PERSUIT tab holds all templates created by our Legal Advisory team. There is a toggle which allows you to enable or disable access to these pre-made PERSUIT Templates for your end-users.
You may choose to toggle this off to limit users to your own specific template structure. However, this will likely limit the breadth of available practice areas and use cases, so Template Managers should be prepared to frequently duplicate and adapt their template library.
Firm Published Templates
The Firm Published Templates tab holds the templates authored by partnering firms highlighting their strategies and expertise. Similar to the PERSUIT templates, these can be toggled on or off for your end-users.
Creating Templates
Create New
Click Create New Template at the top of the Manage Templates page.
You’ll be prompted to first select a relevant category tag for this new template before moving on to the template editor.
The template creation process is similar to creating a request in the drafting page. In the drafting page, you can fill out the content sections and configure settings for your template.
The main difference is the Template Details section, which includes a description and three mandatory tagging fields to be filled out before publishing the template. These fields make it easier for users to find each template and understand its purpose.
When you’ve finished creating your template, click Publish in the top right of the drafting age.
After you’ve reviewed your decision, click Publish again in the popup to complete the process.
You can then find your published template in your company’s template tab.
Creating a Template by Copy
You can copy any existing template in your template library, whether one of your company's templates or a pre-made PERSUIT template. This is useful if you find a template you want to use but want to customize a few details to make it more appropriate for your matter type.
Within any of the available template tabs, click on the template you’d like to copy.
Click on the Copy button found at the top right. Review your decision in the pop-up to confirm.
It will take you directly to the template drafting page where you can edit the content sections or settings as needed.
Note: be sure to adjust and clean up the title of the copied template to remove the (Copy) text.
Once done modifying the template, you can Publish it. You’ll find it in your company’s template tab.
Creating from a Published Request
This applies to a request in any of these three stages: Open to Proposals, Evaluating or Completed.
Within the request, click on the vertical ellipses at the top and select Create Template > Create.
It will take you to the template drafting page where you can fill and modify the necessary sections and publish the new template.
Note: this will be a direct duplicate of the past request so please ensure you remove any matter-specific details.

- Deleting Existing Templates
Editing Existing Templates
In your company’s templates tab, navigate to the existing template you would like to edit and update. You can edit any unpublished or published template. In this example, the chosen template is Published.
Select the Edit button found above the template content. Because it is a published template, you will first need to convert it to an unpublished draft in order to make edits. When unpublished, your team will temporarily not be able to access this template.
There is an Export as Word option as well, should you prefer to review and draft outside of the platform.
Click Convert to Draft to move to the editing screen.
If you are choosing to edit an unpublished template, you will not see the Convert to Draft prompt as it's already in the correct state for edits.
After all the edits have been made, republish the template by pressing Publish and finalize the action by pressing Publish on the confirmation prompt.
Unpublishing Published Templates
Any published template can be unpublished at any time. Once unpublished, your team will no longer have access to it but you will still find the template in the Manage Templates library.
You'll find the Unpublish button above the template content. Once clicked, you'll need to finalize the action by pressing Unpublish again.
You'll know it's successfully unpublished when the previously green status changes to a yellow unpublished status.
Publishing Unpublished Templates
To publish any unpublished template, follow the same workflow as you would when editing a template. Start by navigating to the template you want published. At the top, press the Edit button.
In the template drafting screen, you'll find the Publish button. Press Publish again in the confirmation screen to finalize publishing.
Deleting Existing Templates
Deleting a template means that template will no longer exist in the template library for either you or anyone in your team. No one on your team will be able to use or manage the template.
Deleting a template starts in the template drafting screen. Press the vertical ellipses button and then press Delete. Confirm deletion by pressing Delete again.
Note: once a template is deleted, the information cannot be retrieved again.
